賜昭和天皇、本嘉納商店（菊正宗）行幸の際、お召し上がりの光栄



遥か江戸時代から明治の頃、灘の酒は樽廻船によって神戸から江戸（東京）へ運ばれていました。

その際の手土産として、灘五郷（西・御影・魚崎・西宮・今津）の醸造元１８社の銘酒を一枚一枚に刻んだ特製の卵煎餅を、初代当主が考案。そして登録商標として売り出したのが虎屋吉末謹製、樽形煎餅のはじまりでございます。



以来、一子相伝の味を代々益々探求し、皆様にご満足いただけますよう努力を致しております。神戸お立ち寄りの際のお土産に、灘五郷訪問の記念に、是非お楽しみ下さいませ。

Received an honor of being selected as the tea biscuit for the occasion of the Imperial visit to Kiku-Masamune Brewery by His Majesty the Emperor Hirohito.



The Edo – Meiji era (1603 – 1867) saw the soaring

popularity nationwide of sake brewed in the Kobe area, collectively known as “Nada Gogo”, and much of the produce was shipped by

specialized vessels so-called “Tarukaisen” from the port of Kobe to its largest destination, Edo(Tokyo).



Designed as a local gift to couple the sake barrels, the founder of

Toraya devised special egg crackers named “Tarugata Sembei”, with the branded emblems engraved on surface to represent each of the 24 brewers from Nada Gogo; of ishi, Mikage, Uozaki, ishinomiya, and Imazu districts.



The recepé and the technique have been handed down from father to only one son in direct lineage since then, and we, as the heir, have devoted oursalves to improving it for the customers.



Please enjoy the Sembei as the souvenir of Kobe and Nada Gogo sake breweries.
